Finding Your Perfect Fit
We trust you to choose the level that matches your experience, though auditions may be held to balance the classes.
Please keep in mind that "higher" doesn't always mean "faster" growth. Sometimes, taking a moment to polish your basics is the real secret to leveling up! If you’re unsure where you’ll shine brightest, let’s chat—we’d love to help you decide.
Friendly Reminder: We may adjust group placements to ensure every dancer gets the most immersive and balanced experience possible.
LEVEL 2 – Newcomer + Novice without points.
LEVEL 3 – Minimum 1 Novice point.
LEVEL 4 – Minimum 1 Intermediate point.
LEVEL 5 – Minimum 1 Advanced point.
LEVEL 6 – Minimum 1 All-Star point.
The Glow City Audition Guide
Please Be Punctual To ensure a seamless start, we ask that dancers of all levels be present at the beginning of the audition. Our instructors often need to view the entire floor at once to calibrate the weekend’s curriculum and ensure the energy is balanced.
Trust the Process An audition isn’t a judgment of your worth as a dancer—it’s a tool for our teachers. It allows them to see if the material they’ve prepared is the right "voltage" for you at this specific moment. If you are placed in a level other than what you expected, please don't take it personally. It simply means you will likely gain more "glow" and growth from that specific workshop. Even the most advanced dancers find their greatest breakthroughs by revisiting the foundations!
Is the System Perfect? In our opinion—no. Auditions aren't perfect, and neither are WSDC points. However, at a large international event like Glow City Swing, we need a structured way to create the best learning environment for everyone.
Our Philosophy In a perfect world, our pros would dance with every single one of you. While the scale of Glow City makes that impossible, we are always looking for better solutions.
Have a Bright Idea? If you have thoughts on how to evolve this process, please find an Event Director and share your opinion. Your feedback helps us illuminate the path for next year’s edition!
